Long-term health condition can be physically demanding. It can also affect you mentally and emotionally. Depression, anxiety and sometimes anger are common responses reported by people with a long term condition. It may at times feel that no one understands or empathies with you especially if your LTC related distress and disability is less obvious. This may lead to feeling lonely and isolated in your struggles, which can lead to feeling low and at times anxious about your health and life in general. Your relationship with others may get affected as you feel they are unable to understand or you find it hard to explain how your LTC affects you. Low mood can affect medication compliance, self care and this may lead to neglect in your health. We are able to offer you support to understand and accept the way you are feeling, as well as develop new ways of coping.
